华岩寺位于朝鲜王朝学者兼文学家金正熙的故居附近，也称他的笔名“秋舍”。该寺庙与古代作家有渊源，因为据说该寺庙是由金正熙的曾祖父修复和翻新的。华岩寺的创建历史没有记载，只有修德寺博物馆内展示的“华岩寺修复记录”牌匾上记载了其重建的时间线。时间线由金明熙于1848年记录，金成熙撰写，曹锡信雕刻。 “华岩寺”这个名字是英祖（1724-1776 年在位）所赐。
