甘谷大教堂由卡米卢斯·布永 (Camillus Bouillon) 神父于 1896 年从法国获得神职后直接来到韩国创建。由于牧师向圣母祈祷，为教堂提供土地，该教堂供奉圣母玛利亚。
这座教堂有着100多年的悠久历史。据报道，在朝鲜战争结束期间，这里被用作当地居民的避难所，以躲避朝鲜士兵返回北方。目前的建筑建于 1930 年，仿照首尔明洞大教堂设计。教堂内还有 Maegoe 博物馆，最初是 Bouillon 神父的住所，现已改建为博物馆，展示这座小而重要的大教堂的历史。 |
