三光寺创建于1986年，是韩国佛教天台宗的第二座寺庙。寺庙坐落在白羊山的半山腰上，可以清晰地看到釜山市的景色。寺内设施众多，其中有供奉佛像的大雄宝殿，以及可同时容纳十万人以上的讲经堂。三光寺以和谐地融合现代与传统佛教而闻名，因此，该寺在韩国佛教现代化、在国际上推广佛教以及将宗教与流行文化融合方面发挥了积极作用。寺庙举办各种文化活动，通过俱乐部活动和表演向公众敞开大门。
