경기도 도립공원인 수리산은 군포를 둘러싸고 있으며 안양, 안산에서도 쉽게 접근할 수 있다. 수리산은 독수리 모양의 바위가 있어서 붙여진 이름이라고 한다. 또 다른 전설에 따르면 인근 수리사 사원의 이름을 따서 명명되었다고 합니다.
수리산은 청계산, 광교산, 관악산, 백운산과 함께 광주산맥에 속한다. 산에는 4개의 봉우리가 있는데 가장 높은 봉우리는 태을봉(489m)이다. 수령 100~300년의 거대한 노목이 그림 같은 풍경을 만들어낸다. 2002년 산림청이 주최한 아름다운 숲 공모전에서도 1위를 차지한 산이다. |
