나바위성당은 전라북도 익산시 망성면 화산리에 위치해 있으며, 전라도 지역에서 현존하는 가장 오래된 성당으로 알려져 있다. 1845년(조선) 김대건 신부가 중국 상하이에서 서품을 받고 귀국한 것을 기념하기 위해 1906년에 건립된 성당이다. 교회 내부에는 1954년에 요셉 베르모렐(프랑스 선교사, 1860-1937)을 기리기 위해 건립된 기념물과 1955년에 순교자인 김대건 신부를 기리기 위해 건립된 기념물이 있습니다. 전라도 지역의 가장 중요한 천주교 유적지로 매년 많은 천주교 방문객들이 찾는 곳이다.
