땅끝마을이라고도 불리는 갈두마을은 전라남도 해남군에 있는 한반도 최남단 마을이다. 사자봉에는 전망대가 있어 남쪽 다도해가 탁 트여 보이고, 맑은 날에는 제주도 한산까지 바라볼 수 있다. 갈두(galdu)라는 이름은 인근 산에서 흔히 나는 칡을 뜻하는 한자어에서 유래됐다.
