후산리 생태마을에 위치한 명옥헌은 조선시대 오희도(1583~1623)의 정원으로 선비가 많은 책을 읽고 집필하던 소박한 시골 안식처였습니다. 정원의 주요 특징은 선비가 강의를 하던 명옥헌과, 정자 앞의 네모난 연못이 아름다운 꽃나무로 둘러싸여 있다는 점이다. 연못 주변의 꽃나무에는 적송과 백일홍 등이 있습니다. 명옥헌 오른쪽에는 조선시대 인조대왕(1623~1649)이 오희도를 방문할 때 말을 묶었던 곳인 300년 된 은행나무가 있다.
