한산도는 한려해상국립공원 중앙에 위치하고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 이순신 장군과 관련된 역사적 중요성이 더 잘 알려져 있다. 임진왜란(1592~1598)의 대부분의 기간 동안 그가 함대를 지휘했던 곳이다. 한산대첩이 일어난 곳이기도 하다.
섬에는 사람들이 장군에게 경의를 표하는 장소인 제승당이 있습니다. 하지만 울창한 숲과 뛰어난 전망이 오히려 관광객을 끌어들이는 경향이 있다. |
