문경새재 오픈세트는 『태조왕건』(2000), 『대조영』(2006), 『성균관 스캔들』(2010), 『해를 품은 달』(2012), 『해를 품은 달』(2012) 등 다양한 역사서적에 활용됐다. <전우치(2012)>, <매스커레이드(2012)>. 2008년에는 고려시대 세트장이 해체되어 조선시대 세트장으로 재설계되었다. 방문객들은 오픈세트 곳곳에 전시된 모형집과 다양한 건축물을 통해 과거 생활상을 엿볼 수 있다.
