시청 앞 서울광장은 1919년 3·1독립운동과 1987년 6월 민주화운동이 열렸던 역사적인 장소이다. 2002년 월드컵 경기를 보기 위해 수만 명의 한국 축구팬들이 모인 곳으로도 잘 알려진 곳이다. 서울광장은 도심에 위치하며 덕수궁을 비롯한 수많은 역사적 명소로 둘러싸여 있어 서울을 대표하는 명소로 자리잡고 있습니다.
