'동헌'은 조선시대 최고 관직의 행정청사 또는 본부 건물을 가리킨다. 이 기와집은 6칸(한국의 전통 단위), 즉 앞면이 약 14.4m, 옆면이 2칸(4.8m)이고 높이가 3.3m입니다. 대흥면 청사로 사용되던 조선후기 건축의 특징을 지닌 이 집은 1979년 해체되어 원래의 모습으로 복원되었다.
