선암계곡은 단양 가산리에서 대잠리까지 이어지는 10km의 깨끗한 계곡이다. 단양팔경 중 특선암과 소선암이 여기에 있다. 울창한 숲과 기암괴석, 맑고 깨끗한 계곡으로 유명한 이 계곡은 여름철 캠핑과 물놀이를 즐기기에 가장 좋은 곳 중 하나이다. 주변 관광지로는 소선암 자연휴양림, 특선암 캠핑장, 소선암 유원지, 서남 특별캠핑장 등이 있다.
