신왕사는 노적산 자락에 위치해 있다. 창건된 지 160년으로 추정되며, 1920년 이경직 스님이 중수하였습니다. 본래 토골절 또는 수량사라고 불렸던 사찰은 1980년 혜원스님에 의해 신광사로 이름이 바뀌었습니다. 젊은 기운이 넘치는 사찰임을 느낄 수 있습니다. 역사가 짧은 사찰이지만 홍익대학교 세종캠퍼스 근처에 위치해 있어 대학생들 사이에서 인기를 끌고 있다.
