전주 승암산에 있는 동고사는 태고종의 사찰이다. 동고사까지 오르는 것은 상쾌한 산행이며, 사찰에서는 전주 시내의 탁 트인 전망을 감상할 수 있습니다. 사찰 건물은 산 능선을 따라 차례대로 지어졌으며, 대웅전을 중심으로 양쪽에 일렬로 늘어서 있다. 이 사찰은 고인이 된 위대한 불교 승려들의 초상화와 목조 불교 벽화로 소박하고 세련되게 장식되어 있습니다. 동고사 오른쪽 등산로는 조선후기 박해받은 천주교 신자들의 묘지인 치명자산 순교지로 이어진다.
