태화강은 울산시를 서쪽에서 동쪽으로 가로지르며 백운산의 탑골샘에서 발원한다. 길이 47.54km의 강은 울산 시내를 지나 동해바다의 울산만으로 흘러든다. 강은 울산 사람들의 자긍심의 상징일 뿐만 아니라 울산의 문화와 역사에서 중추적인 역할을 담당해 온 소중한 상품이었습니다. 강 주변에는 대나무 숲 공원, 잔디밭, 참억새 군생지, 산책로, 운동 시설 등 다양한 볼거리와 편의 시설이 있습니다. 강 자체에는 많은 민물고기가 서식하고, 강변 지역은 철새들의 서식지로 유명합니다.
