九和村は梅峰山の入口にあるピジェ丘（三水嶺とも呼ばれる）の下に位置しています。村の地形が9頭の牛が仲良く寝ている風景に似ていることから名づけられたそうです。高山植物園は標高800～900メートルに位置し、絶滅危惧種の高山植物を絶滅から守っています。
植物園では、珍しい花や植物を手軽に観察することもできます。ひまわりが満開になる8月、九和村では太白ひまわり祭りが開催されます。色とりどりの花々を楽しむほか、ドローイング展や写真展、再利用素材を使った環境彫刻展など、多彩な見どころが満載です。 |
