サングンブリ火口は天然記念物に指定されています。済州島の南東側に位置し、幅約650メートル、深さ約100メートル、周囲約2,070メートルの平らな火口です。火口を上から見ると、人工の円形競技場のように見えます。火口内には多種多様な植物が生息しています。 北側には、アカザノキ、モクレンなどの南大城植物が生い茂り、珍しい冬イチゴも生えています。 火口の南側には常緑樹、カエデ、ヤマイチゴなどの温大林植物が生い茂っています。 限られた空間に多種多様な樹木や植物が生育するため、研究者からも注目を集めています。
