仁川のチャイナタウンは、1883 年の仁川港の開港と翌年の清朝の治外法権指定により誕生しました。かつては、この地域には中国からの輸入品を扱う店が数多く存在していましたが、現在ではこの地域の中国系企業のほとんどがレストランとなっています。現在、チャイナタウンの住民のほとんどは、初期の中国人入植者の子孫である中国人の 2 世または 3 世です。 この地域には中国の風味が数多く残されている一方、第一世代の伝統文化が保存されています。
