ソウルの南西部にある 225,000 ㎡以上の土地をカバーする西湖公園としても知られる西ソウル湖公園は、都市の地域的不均衡を解決することを目的としていました。同公園は、「水」と「リサイクル」をテーマにした環境に優しい公園です。公園になる前は、この地域は浄水場として使用され、約 12 万トンの水道水をソウルに供給していました。園内には児童遊園やサッカー場、バスケットボールコート、バドミントンコートなどのスポーツ施設、文化広場などがあります。広大な敷地と24時間営業の公園は、ソウル市民の憩いの場となっています。
