務安会山白蓮池は全羅南道務安郡宝鏡里にある約33万平方メートルの面積を持つアジア最大の白蓮の生息地です。この池はもともと日本統治時代に灌漑用に作られた貯水池でしたが、栄山江水系の開発とともに放棄されました。この貯水池は、12羽の白鶴が貯水池に舞い降りる夢を見て、海岸線に12本のレンコンを植え、大切に育てた鄭秀東氏の努力のおかげで、現在の蓮の生息地として再構築・拡張されました。この池の白い蓮の花は、7月から9月にかけて開花し、散ります。花が見頃を迎える8月には蓮まつりが開催されます。
