頭毛村は、2005年に緑の農業体験村に指定されました。村内を流れる小川は良質な水で、アユやモクズガニ、ウナギなどが生息しています。農業体験と海洋体験が同時に楽しめるため、家族連れに人気の村です。村人たちは訪問者を温かく迎え、久しぶりに故郷に帰ったような雰囲気を醸し出します。村の名前は、 大きなハンガリ（土鍋）のように海を抱きしめているように見えることに由来しています。
