落花岩は扶蘇山の北端、白馬江の上にそびえ立つ岩壁です。伝説によれば、ここは百済が新羅・唐連合軍の泗沘城（現在の扶余の扶蘇山城）侵攻の際に敗れたとき、百済の宮廷女官たちが飛び降りて自殺した場所だという。この岩の名前「落花岩」は文字通り「花が落ちる崖」を意味し、百済女性の貞節と忠誠を象徴しています。
