花岩寺は、朝鮮時代の学者で作家の金正熙（ペンネーム「チュサ」とも呼ばれる）の家の近くにあります。この寺院は金正煕の曽祖父が修復・改修したことで知られており、古代の作家とのつながりが深い。花岩寺の創建を説明する記録はなく、崇徳寺博物館に展示されている「花岩寺修復記録」銘板に再建の年表が確認できるのみである。この年表は1848年に金明熙が記録し、金聖煕が執筆し、チョ・ソクシンが刻んだものだ。 「花岩寺」という名前は英祖（在位1724～1776）が命名したものです。
