Goryeong Daegaya Historic Sites refer to the historical sites in Goryeong, the capital of the Daegaya Kingdom, which prospered for 520 years (A.D. 42 - 562). Recently, research on Daegaya culture has become more active, and the general public's interest in cultural field trips is increasing. It is a place worth looking into traces of ancient culture in order to understand the culture and history of the Korean Peninsula. In addition to domestic explorers, it is also a place frequented by Japanese people. This historic site contains various Gaya sites, including the Jisan-dong Ancient Tombs, which contain over 200 ancient tombs, the Jusanseong Fortress, a representative mountain fortress from the Daegaya period, and the Goa-dong Mural Tomb, the only mural from the Daegaya period. You can experience the culture of the times.

1. Jisan-dong Ancient Tombs
It refers to a large tomb built on the main ridge of Mt. Jusan behind Goryeong-eup and about 200 tombs built on the southeastern slope. Tombs 32-35, which were excavated in 1977, were found to be the tombs of the ruling class as iron helmets, armor, and gilt-bronze crowns were discovered, while Tombs 44-45 are evaluated as a valuable historic site that shows the burial system of ancient society. It is designated as Historic Site No. 79, and the Daegaya Royal Tomb Exhibition Hall was opened on September 18, 2000 to preserve cultural assets and open them to visitors.

2. Jusanseong

3. Goa-dong Mural Tombs
It became known to the world in 1963 when a painting was discovered in a tomb and examined. It is the only mural tomb from the Daegaya period and is Historic Site No. 165. The external diameter is approximately 25m from east to west, 20m from north to south, and 6.9m in height. The murals were painted with plaster on the walls and ceiling, and the lotus pattern painted in pink, green, black, and brown on the flagstones of the ceiling is unique. The tomb is located in Goari, Goryeong-eup, but for preservation reasons, viewing the inside is not allowed, and a replica of the same size as the actual tomb is on display at the Goryeong County Office.

4. Daegaya Museum
Daegaya Museum, located at the foot of Mt. Jusan where the royal tombs of Daegaya are gathered, is the only museum specializing in Daegaya in Korea along with the Royal Tombs of Daegaya Exhibition Hall. The Daegaya Royal Tomb Exhibition Hall, which opened in September 2000, is an exhibition hall specializing in Jisan-ri Tomb No. 44, the first large-scale burial tomb identified in Korea. The interior of Jisan-ri Tomb No. 44 has been recreated to its original appearance, allowing visitors to enter the life-size restored Tomb No. 44 and see for themselves the structure and construction method of the tomb, the burial practices of the protagonists and those who died, and the types and characteristics of grave goods. 5. Daegaya Culture School
Using a closed school (formerly Wolmak Elementary School), this is a place where people can learn about the science and spiritual culture of our ancestors embedded in Korea's woodblock printing culture, such as engraving and early printing, by going beyond simply viewing it and experiencing it firsthand. This place operates many programs such as ancient printing experience, engraving experience, Korean paper craft, and tea ceremony experience, and is visited by a large number of tourists every year, including students, adults, and foreigners. The principal of Daegaya Cultural School is Mr. Ahn Jun-yeong, who inherited the engraving technology of the Tripitaka Koreana and is an engraver with 20 years of experience.

6. Monarchy
It is believed to be a well used in the royal palace during the Daegaya period. Kayatogi and tile fragments were excavated here and are currently located within Goryeong Elementary School.
