This monument was erected to commemorate participation in the independence movement that took place on March 1, 1919. At that time, current party cadets in Sagye-ri, Sanseo-myeon climbed up Sagyesan Mountain and chanted for national independence, then came to the Dongwha-ri market and joined with the vendors to hold a movement for national independence. In order to commemorate the work of our ancestors who dedicated their lives to the independence of our country, the residents of the village came together in 1983 to build a monument next to Gyeongnodang in Donghwa-ri. In 1995, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of liberation, it was promoted as a commemorative project for the residents of Jangsu County and moved to its current location. br>
