Yumyeongsan Mountain is a mountain that has become widely famous by its name. Originally, there was no name for the mountain on the topographical map. When the Empor Mountaineering Club reached this mountain while hiking along the national meridian in 1973, they named the mountain after Jin Yu-myeong, who was in the group at the time. However, on old maps, the mountain is clearly named Mayusan because horses were raised in this area, but now it is commonly known as Yumyeongsan Mountain. The course from Yangpyeong offers another pleasure in hiking as you can enjoy the open coolness of the vast grasslands. You can use the same hiking course as Daebusan Mountain, or you can hike across the ridge by linking Daebusan Mountain and Sogunisan Mountain. When you stand at the top, there is a cairn made of stacked stones, and the view is also excellent.
