Bonghwangsan Mountain, which embraces Buseoksa Temple, is a mountain formed by the mountain range extending south from Seondalsan Mountain. Seondalsan Mountain, which is familiar from its name, is a 1,236m high peak that straddles Yeongwol-gun, Gangwon-do, Bonghwa-gun, Gyeongbuk, and Yeongju-si. It has subtle and beautiful valleys on all sides, and is not only elegant in shape but also rich in vegetation. Seondalsan Mountain is a mountain belonging to the Sobaeksan Mountain Range and is surrounded by Maebongsan Mountain, Eoraesan Mountain, and Bonghwangsan Mountain. The water system flowing on the northern slope flows into Okdong Stream, and the water system originating on the southwestern slope flows into Naeseong Stream. Sobaeksan National Park is located in the southwest, and the morning mineral spring, a national tourist attraction, is located at the southeastern foot.
