GANGWON-DO WEATHER
* Sajasan Mountain, a mountain with four treasures *
Sajasan Mountain is a 1,181m high mountain bordering Sujumyeon, Yeongwol-gun, Gangwon-do and Anheung-myeon, Hoengseong-gun. It is said that it was called Sajaesan Mountain (四財山) because it contained four types of treasures, including honey, which was found in abundance in the Yeonhwabong Grottoes in Jiji-in, Jeondanpo, an edible soil, and lacquer and wild ginseng, which are materials for painting lacquerware. According to one theory, gold. silver. It is also said that it is called that because a lot of copper was mined. Sajasan Mountain, which faces Baekdeoksan Mountain (1,350m) across a ridge, has strangely shaped rocks and waterfalls here and there, including the picturesque Gubongdaesan Mountain (870m) at the end of the southern ridge. The deep valleys maintain a large amount of water and purity. Beopheungsa Temple, one of the great archaeological palaces, is located there. The pine forest on the path leading to the temple is spectacular, and especially in winter, when it snows heavily, it is a mountain that brings joy to those who visit the mountain.

* Sights to see in Sajasan Mountain, Beopheungsa Temple *
Beopheungsa Temple is famous as one of the five major palaces that enshrined the Buddha's relics. It was founded by Master Jajang around 647 during the reign of King Jindeok of Silla and was named ‘Sajasansa Temple’, but during the Subbulsa Temple in 1939, it was renamed Sajasanjeokmyeolbogung. Beopheungsa Temple is Heungnyeongsa Temple, which was founded by Master Jajang during the Silla Dynasty and enshrined the relics of Buddha. At that time, Master Jinghyo obtained 100 relics of Manju Bodhisattva from the Tang Dynasty and enshrined them in Tongdosa Temple in Yangsan, Sangwonsa Temple in Odaesan Mountain, and Jeongamsa Temple in Bongjeongam, Jeongseon in Seoraksan Mountain, and built a Jeokmyeolbogung-type shrine here. Therefore, there is no Buddha Triad inside Jeokmyeolbogung, and there is only a single window at the back. This is said to be the meaning of Beopheungsa Jeokmyeolbogung, which says that the entire mountain is the body of Buddha. Beopheungsa Temple was once a large temple where about 2,000 monks gathered, but due to several fires, all temples were destroyed, and now only Jeokmyeolbogung, Simujang, Yosachae, Bointapbi for Master Jinghyo, and the crypt where Master Jajang used to practice remain. The pine forest road leading from Beopheungsa Temple to Jeokmyeolbogung Palace is one of the most scenic spots in Korea.
