This place is haunted by the pain of the Korean War and the September 18 North Korean submarine and armed intelligence infiltration. In order to emphasize the importance of national security and raise security awareness while wishing for peaceful unification, this large-scale exhibition park consists of a ship exhibition hall and a security exhibition hall where military equipment of the three armed forces of the country, the Army, Navy, and Air Force, as well as North Korean submarines, can be seen in one place. Gangneung Unification Park was created.
However, in October 21, the retired ship 'Jeonbuk' displayed at the warship exhibition hall had a dismantling ceremony due to aging facilities and concerns about safety accidents, and it disappeared into history. Instead, an auto camping site where you can enjoy car camping is scheduled to be built around August 22. Facilities such as North Korean submarines and old fighter planes, which were the impetus for the creation of Unification Park, will be maintained as is.
