The best way to comfortably enjoy the secret scenery of Seorak Mountain is to use the Seorak Cable Car. The cable car station is located in Seoraksan National Park, and it takes about 10 minutes to reach Gwongeumseong Fortress, which is 700 meters above sea level. Since one-way tickets are not available, you must purchase a round-trip ticket. Even while traveling by cable car, you can admire famous attractions such as Ulsan Rock and Manmulsang through the glass window. When you reach Gwongeumseong Fortress, the majestic scenery of Seoraksan Mountain unfolds like a panorama. There is a legend that Gwongeumseong Fortress, built during the Goryeo Dynasty to prevent enemy invasions, was built by two generals of the Gwon and Kim clans in one day. Now only the foundation remains, reminding us of past history. Seoraksan Mountain, seen from the top of Gwongeumseong Fortress, is majestic and mysterious with various strangely shaped rocks. If you stand at the top, you can capture the entire scenery of Oeseorak. Just below Gwongeumseong Fortress, Anakam Hermitage, built during the Silla Dynasty, and the Muhak Pine Tree, which has survived for hundreds of years, cannot help but excite one's admiration.
