Baekryong Cave, located in Baekunsan Mountain, has been well known to villagers for a long time. It was in danger of being submerged due to the Yeongwol Dam construction plan several years ago, but became known to the general public when the plan was canceled. In 1976, the narrow passage (aka Gaehole) was expanded thanks to local resident Jeong Mu-ryong, and actual surveys and research were conducted on the entire section. It was named Baekryong Cave after the 'Baek' character of Baekun Mountain where the cave is located and the 'Ryong' character of Jeong Mu-ryong.

Baekryong Cave, designated as a natural monument, is a natural limestone cave that has been open to the public on a limited basis since 2010. am. Inside the cave, many deformed objects with various shapes, including stalactites, stalagmites, stone columns, and fried egg-shaped stalagmites, are growing. The cave has great scenic and academic value, making it an excellent cave for use as an educational place.< br />
