Achasan Mountain offers a great view of the sunrise in Seoul, preventing the need to travel all the way to the East Sea to enjoy this beautiful sight. Achasan Mountain is a popular spot to watch the sunrise as it is easily accessible using public transportation and takes only about 15 minutes to hike up to the viewing spot. The annual Achasan Sunrise Event first began on January 1, 2000 as the first sunrise event in Seoul and has now beocome one of the most representative events of Seoul, welcoming more than 40,000 visitors every year with cultural performances and other events that wish a prosperous and hopeful new year. |
