서귀다원은 원래 감귤농원으로 운영되었으나, 2005년 차밭으로 새롭게 바꿔 운영되고 있다. 개인이 운영하고 있는 조용한 다원으로 한라산 해발 250m에서 제주 녹차를 재배하고 있으며, 다른 다원보다 비교적 사람이 적어 여유롭게 둘러볼 수 있다. 나무 가로수길, 잎이 무성한 동백나무, 현무암 조각, 차밭이 어우러져 있으며, 한라산과 녹차밭이 한눈에 보이는 절경을 한적하게 구경할 수 있다.
